Howling at the Moon...

"Generally speaking, a howling wilderness does not howl:
it is the imagination of the traveler that does the howling."
Henry David Thoreau

(Do you see the wolf howling at the moon?
But then again, I still say the tufa look like the moon or a sci fi planet!!!)

  5. yes Thomas!!! The fresh water coming into the lake mix with the salt water and create the solid limestone formations, under watet...the lake dropped significantly from LADWP water diversion from the feeder streams to LA for water and the tufa became exposed. The whole area takes on a sci fi look...like a Star Trek set!!! Thanks for visiting!
