The Lingering Sun...

"A large drop of sun lingered on the horizon and then dripped over and was gone,
and the sky was brilliant over the spot where it had gone,
and a torn cloud, like a bloody rag, hung over the spot of its going.
And dusk crept over the sky from the eastern horizon,
and darkness crept over the land from the east."
John Steinbeck

Driving home from the grocery store yesterday...this is what I saw...

  3. That sky is just gorgeous (makes having to go grocery shopping worth it!), and the Steinbeck quote to accompany it is absolutely perfect!

  10. I agree Margaret!!! I loved reading Steinbeck...as a matter of fact...now that I think of it...I should read him again!!! East of Eden was my favorite...

It's from the Grapes of Wrath Adele...believe it or not, our Vons (the only grocery store in town) is the largest grossing Vons in the United States. They are constantly busy and regularly have every aisle open...locals complain about how busy it gets, but even when it's really crowded...the check out is faster than most checkouts down south!!! They've got it dialed in!!!
