We were driving back from Lee Vining this afternoon with friends who are visiting from LA when my friend said the early settlers must have invented the word majestic when they saw the Sierra Nevadas...
What was interesting Antonia is that the fog was settled over the lake....no fog anywhere else. It was a warm day, and it had snowed a day or two before...Mono doesn't ice over like most of the lakes up here, because of the high salt content.
Thank you Dragonstar! It was just such an interesting phenomena...the enire lake was fogged over with no fog extending beyond the lake...no way I was going to drive past this on our way to Reno and not take a shot!!!
Eerie.

ReplyDeleteI've always loved mist over water, and those mountains are awe-inspiring!
