As you may know, we made an impromptu trip down south last Sunday...
What you probably don't know is that it was my birthday too!!!
Guess what I got...
it's bigger than my hand...
captures really sharp close images...
WooHoo!!!!
It's a 105mm Nikon micro lens!!!
Get's a pretty clear pic of those darned icicles around our house doesn't it?!!!
We were at TheChief's mom's house most of our visit...
and I took a few pics of various items around her house...
I'm looking forward to playing with my new toy!!!
TheChief is my hero!!!

Thank you Leif!!!
Oh Cafe!!! You deserve a big "canine chin scratch" for that one!!!
Thanks Ed! Sounds like a plan! Last Christmas I was blessed with a Nikon d700...which is a full frame camera which then affected the quality of the lenses I already had!!! You know how that goes!!!
Great photos with the new lens! Happy belated Birthday! Have fun with it!
ReplyDeleteOne day maybe I'll get one of those. :-) Nice shots Kathy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian!!! I plan to!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wayne! I really like it!!! I debated between the 50mm and the 105mm...HansHB convinced me the 105mm was the way to go!!!
I am clueless about these lenses. I need to know more. Your images are marvelous!

You have an amazing camera and now you have a new toy for it! Great shots and I look forward to more of these!
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
PS Joyeux anniversaire, mon amie!
A belated Happy Birthday to you and congratulations on your new toy!
ReplyDeleteYou'd love this lens Virginia!!! it's designed specifically for extremely close up work...optimized for high reproduction ratios (whatever that means!) The main thing is that you can get really sharp images at extremely close range, with really small subjects... a lot of macro favorites are extreme close ups of flowers and bugs!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Genie! I'm looking forward to playing with it!!!
Thanks << Louis >>!!!
Thanks Petrea!!!
Love the icicles! What a gorgeous present to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dragonstar!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I've got a 105mm lens too - and I LOVE it :)
ReplyDeleteYou will love your new lens. I see that you are already good with it which doesn't surprise me as photos always start with the eye. The lens just allows us to get what we see. Fine icicles.
ReplyDeleteSuper!!! I'm looking forward to using mine!!! Thanks Kerri!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the compliment TakenForGranted!!!
