Our Little Corner of the World...Expanded!!!

I thought I'd missed it!!!

Jacaranda season is an especially beautiful part of spring in Glendale...
and South Pasadena!!!

The median in our street is lined with Jacarandas...
they bloom later than the South Pasadena ones which were already at the end of their bloom...
but we managed to land in Glendale right smack in the middle of Jacaranda season!!!

I'm so glad I didn't miss it!!!

  13. Oh I adore the Jacarandas Chieftess, a lot of people think they're too messy, but what a pretty mess I say!

  15. They are indeed beautiful trees, but I guess I haven't recovered from having a huge one right in front of our house. They mist sap and are always shedding leaves or petals and it is all sticky! It gets tracked in the house, ruins the finish on your car and your shoes get sticky bottoms in just a few steps.
I still like your photos of them! very nice...

  16. Haha!!! I do know what you mean!!! Fortunately, the one in our yard down south is in the far corner! As for the median...they typically drop their blossoms there...so it's not so messy in the yards nearby! As for the mist of sap...that can be an issue!!! But I love them anyway!!!

  20. I'm with Pat - mine is in a location where I don't enjoy it, fear it's invasive roots may have put my plumbing out for five days while I had the clay pipes replaced by plastic AND accumulated shedding on my roof (they don't blow off because they stick like glue) led to the discovery that they were rotting my roof shingles ;-) but they are pretty
