I thought I'd missed it!!!
Jacaranda season is an especially beautiful part of spring in Glendale...
and South Pasadena!!!
The median in our street is lined with Jacarandas...
they bloom later than the South Pasadena ones which were already at the end of their bloom...
but we managed to land in Glendale right smack in the middle of Jacaranda season!!!
I'm so glad I didn't miss it!!!

I love blue flowers and these are wonderful. Looks like Bluebells and what we call Bluerain.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteIf I could see these it would be nearly Christmas - thats when they flower here.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures.

What beautiful purple flowers!
ReplyDeleteIf you're still around, drive down Del Mar in Pasadena, it's amazing.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous color! That's a lot of purple!
ReplyDeleteThanks Birgitta!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Gary!!!
I can't quite wrap my head around Spring and Christmas at the same time Stewart!!!
Takka Dirk!!!
Thanks Linda!!!
Another Pasadena friend just emailed me the same thing Hiker!!! Unfortunately, we're back up the mountain and the next time we're down, Jacaranda season will be about over...Take a pic and post it Hiker!!!
Thanks Brian!!! My favorite color...of course...that changes with each new flowering season!!!
Gorgeous...! Ours haven't come out yet. Soon I hope. (Sorry, I am a bit late here. This is a busy week :).
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! I wish I could grow them in my garden!
ReplyDeleteThey are so beautiful! Wish we got them here, I just love their color!
ReplyDeleteThanks LOL!!! It's interesting to see the pattern of bloom...the main boulevard is first...then our street...then the one in our back yard...which has no blooms on it yet!!!
ReplyDeleteThey're even more beautiful in person Chai-and-Chardonnay!!!
I know what you mean LondonLulu!!! I miss them up here in the mountains!!! We have a very different form of beautiful here!!!
Oh I adore the Jacarandas Chieftess, a lot of people think they're too messy, but what a pretty mess I say!
ReplyDeleteThe lawn under these is a blanket of purple and green PerthDP!!! But it's sooo worth it!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are indeed beautiful trees, but I guess I haven't recovered from having a huge one right in front of our house. They mist sap and are always shedding leaves or petals and it is all sticky! It gets tracked in the house, ruins the finish on your car and your shoes get sticky bottoms in just a few steps.
ReplyDeleteI still like your photos of them! very nice...
Haha!!! I do know what you mean!!! Fortunately, the one in our yard down south is in the far corner! As for the median...they typically drop their blossoms there...so it's not so messy in the yards nearby! As for the mist of sap...that can be an issue!!! But I love them anyway!!!

ReplyDeleteAnd abundance of Jacaranda blossoms NatureFootstep!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Pat - mine is in a location where I don't enjoy it, fear it's invasive roots may have put my plumbing out for five days while I had the clay pipes replaced by plastic AND accumulated shedding on my roof (they don't blow off because they stick like glue) led to the discovery that they were rotting my roof shingles ;-) but they are pretty
