Taking a Moment to Remember...

"Time is passing.  Yet, for the United States of America,
there will be no forgetting September the 11th.
We will remember every rescuer who died in honor.
We will remember every family that lives in grief.
We will remember the fires and ash, the last phone calls,
the funerals of the children."
President George W. Bush, November 11 2001

  1. As «Louis» has occasionally commented in the past, you do a fine job of matching the quotes to the images and this is a fine example in your 9/11 remembrance.

  5. I can't believe it's been that long either Bayside...I still remember, very clearly, the moment I saw the second plane hit...

  6. What a heartbreaking day, my brother was there that morning but is fine. I always think of those who didn't make it. Time passes but one never forgets. Love your image and post.

  7. I'll bet your brother will never forget...nor you either...such a frightening experience for those who died and for those who survived there that day.

  9. It's amazing how much emotion a simple photo can create. My friend's husband is a NYC police officer and that was his day off. They lost dozens of friends that day. I can't even imagine.

  10. Thank you Margaret...

Ohhh...Jennifer...my heart goes out to your husband. People don't realize the pain experienced by those who survived or who were lucky enough to be elsewhere that day. Those who perished had only moments of a lifetime to face such horrible pain...but those left behind face a lifetime of memories.

Today I was watching the news and they mentioned Benghazi...4 more citizens who met an untimely end, in horrible circumstances, on the anniversary of one of the most horrific events in US history.
