Last Chance...

...for the season!!!

"Keep close to Nature's heart...and break clear away, once in a while,
and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods.
Wash your spirit clean."
John Muir

We're getting closer and closer to the closure of the roads up to the Lakes Basin...
this trail starts out of Coldwater Camp grounds in the basin, and heads up to Emerald Lake...
The forecast suggests snow again next week...
this trail won't be open much longer...

  1. We've had such mild weather in our area that you almost forget about the looming winter snow!

  4. It's a beautiful little hike Tanya!

I don't think of snow coming until December...but it's here!!! Thanks VioletSky!

I know you're a SoCal expat LOL...like me...living in snow is quite different from visiting it!!!

There were several patches of the hike that were dicey Jean...but beautiful anyway!!! I'm sure there's a LOT more snow there now!!!

  5. It'll be a long winter with no hiking... but the trail looks quite appealing!

  6. It's a really nice trail...and actually, the whole John Muir trail extends the length of the Eastern Sierras...you can hike small chunks of it at a time...and for the hale and hardy...they can take a month or two!!!
