Reflections of the Heart...

"In water one sees one's own face;
But in wine one beholds the heart of another."
French Proverb

Well...that's one thing the French and I can agree on!!!

Mono Lake is the lowest it's been in 18 years...
The drain off over the last 3 years has been the driest on record in the Mono Basin.
So I guess it's a good thing that we had snow flurries last night!!!

  1. Remarkable looking formations - although being able to see them through lack of rain is less good.

    Sedona was wonderful, but I just wished I could have seen it at my own speed and without some of the other stuff being overlaid. I can see why you would want to move there.

    1. This is a very unique spot Stewart!!! The formations come from a chemical reaction of fresh water meeting the salty water of the lake. This is a saltwater lake...2 1/2 times the salt content in the ocean. There are no outlets for the lake so as the lake water evaporates each year, the salinization increases...

  6. The colours and reflections in this shot are so beautiful Kath, bit of a worry about the climate changes though. Hope that you're 'beholding the heart of another' in a glass of wine on Mothers Day :)
