With the decease in snail mail I don't see truck like this as much anymore. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteReally? We see our Australian equivalents frequently - they are red and hard to miss.
ReplyDeleteNice shot. We see our little yellow electric postal vans all the time over here.
ReplyDeleteThere was a big mail distribution center around here and I used to see 'official' US mail trucks all the time. I'm guessing the postal service now uses contract delivery services, like these, to save $$.
ReplyDeleteWe see Canada Post trucks here all the time.
ReplyDeleteI see the official mail delivery trucks regularly...but never one like this! Woody makes sense in saying that it's a contract service.
ReplyDeleteI never have, either! And I've been driving for _1 years. Of course our local delivery trucks come daily. But this larger truck is an unusual sight, at least for me.
ReplyDeleteHow is it that we've lived in the LA area as long as we have Petrea and we've never seen this??? Not that I ever thought about it...I figured the mail always moved by air...but then...how does it get from the post office to the airport???
ReplyDeleteI don't know the answer to your question, Chieftess. I've never even seen trucks like this at the post office. I assume this is what's used for transporting mail from the airport to post offices and vice versa. I just haven't seen it. Maybe there's some central sorting office that we don't live near.
ReplyDeleteHow many years Chieftess :) I love it when I spot something different when out driving.. Hate it if I can't actually take the shot :)
ReplyDeletei see them quite often on the freeway here. but then we have more tractor trailers out here than in southern california. quite scary actually having as many as we have to share the road with!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a rather large truck for mail.
ReplyDeleteThis truck and trailer is owned by a private contractor. There are thousands of them on the road, hauling mail for the post office.
