This is Dunmovin, and it's for sale!!!
Legend has it that during the Dust Bowl years, a group of Oklahoma settlers
drove to California, and when they arrived at this spot on Hwy 395 they said...
"We're dun movin'!!!"
Well...I don't know who lives there now...
but it's for sale...
Actually, in the early 1900's it served as a freight station for silver ingots from the
Cerro Gordo mines...
Charles and Hilda King purchased it in 1936 and changed the name to Dunmovin...
There was a post office there for all of three years...
The rest of the settlement was a roadside service station, a store, tourist cabins, and a cafe...
The property was sold in 1961 and the cafe and store stayed busy for many more years...
It's deserted now...and for sale...
...And that, folks, is the rest of the story...
