"Nature is a mutable cloud is always and never the same."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Have you ever driven an hour to an area you've chosen for a photography shoot,
and once you got there,
realized your current memory card was in your card reader at home,
and the new ones you just got online are sitting on the kitchen counter,
and there's no place even remotely near to go to buy a CF card
because no one carries them within a hundred and fifty miles???
Yeah...
...did I feel muy estupido...
(Fortunately...I was actually there for a different reason,
but didn't car pool because I was going to stay and take some
awesome photos...so it was kind of a lonely drive home but wasn't a total waste!!!)

ReplyDeleteI am sorry "your current memory card was in your card reader at home"...
ReplyDeleteLove the photo and the quote!
oh no! how awful, at least you won't do it again!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tanya and Sonia!!!
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd understand Justine!!!
Beautiful shot! I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteI once drove a long way parked the car and then walked and for awhile and as I was about to take some shots I realized that my battery was still in the charger. :-( It taught me a lesson that I haven''t forgotten.
Rats! So annoying. You are not alone...we all have tales of a similar theme :). Beautiful photos you have posted!
ReplyDeleteYes, I HAVE had that experience. Not I try to carry many duplicated cards... just in case!! Oh, and great photo!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear I'm not the only one!!! I actually have a shoulder swing strap that has storage for batteries and memory cards which usually has two charged batteries and several memory cards in it...but not this time!!! Totally charged and no memory card!!!
ReplyDeleteAarhh! How frustrating. At least you had a pleasant trip home, as long as you could forgive yourself.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo by the way.
Thanks Karen!!! I did scout the area for future photos!!! I'm planning on heading back up there in the next week or two!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't done that yet, but I've gone off with a dead battery more than once...
ReplyDeleteBeen there, done that one too!!! Thanks Pat!
