"For once you have tasted flight
you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards,
for there you have been and there you will long to return."
Leonardo da Vinci
I've been culling through my Galapagos shots and came across this
Frigatebird...
Thought I'd go a little abstract in a retro sort of way...

ReplyDeleteThanks V!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lmkazmierczak!!!
Thanks Brian!
This wasn't taken as a silhouette and I didn't do any "tweaking"! It's straight out of the camera! These birds were solid black and the day was very grey! A telephoto lens...300mm...and that's the story!!!
This is really a cool picture. I love that you add wise words to your photos, very poetic.
ReplyDeleteThanks McGuffy Ann!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the silhouette! Very nice photo Kathryn...
ReplyDeleteI could watch these guys float on air for hours.
ReplyDeleteVery nice image! It transported me immediately to an open boat floating on the waves.
Thank you!
Very nice shot. We always had dozens of frigate birds floating outside our balcony when we lived in Brazil, and I love to watch them. So graceful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up!
Thanks Pat!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wally!!! That's where we were when I took this!!! On the Celebrity Expedition in the Galapagos!!!
It was amazing to me to see these birds miles constantly hovering above us, miles away from shore!!!
thanks Peg Peter!!! I'm guessing you lived near the beach in Brazil!!!
Yep. We were about three hours up the coast from Rio de Janeiro, and lived maybe 50 yards from the beach. Man, I miss that place!
