Exquisite!!!

"I want to lead the Victorian life,
surrounded by exquisite clutter."
Freddie Mercury

Hmmm...I'm not so sure I'd call my clutter exquisite...I guess I'm halfway there!!!

One of my favorite things about Monterey is the preponderance of
Victorian homes scattered throughout the area...
...so charming!!!

    1. Jeg er enig Dirk! Jeg ville elske å våkne opp i et rom opp på toppen med en av disse arker

I agree Dirk!!! I'd love to wake up in a room up at the top with one of those dormers!!!

  3. This house has gone through several incarnations...initially it was a doctor's house...and office!!! The stained glass window above the door says Dr. Hall...the original owner!!! After his family finally sold the house, it became several different types of businesses...the current owners bought it and have restored it to a residence and are continually restoring it.

  10. The Victorians there are quite nice! Did you know that there are more surviving Victorians in Alameda than in any other city in California? You would enjoy visiting Ferndale, near Eureka. The entire downtown is made up of Victorian buildings- driving down the main street, you'd think you had steeped back into the 19th century!

I'll have to check out Alameda some day...of course...it doesn't come with the magnificent ocean of Monterey Bay though!!!
