"Many men go fishing all of their lives without knowing that it is not fish they are after."
Henry David Thoreau
But I'll bet there are a whole lot of men (and women) who are getting out their gear
and getting ready to catch "the big one"
as soon as fishing season opens!!!

They've just about got everything you might need for a n opening weekend that's for sure. I like to go fishing...but I don't like To actually fish. So I know what old Henry meant I think.ReplyDelete
I think you absolutely know Thoreau's meaning!!!Delete
I thought that was the Silver Lake cafe! We LOVE that place!!!! Didn't they just get snow up there?ReplyDelete
Cheryl Ann ~~ we watch their webcam from home!
It snowed from Sunday through Wednesday!!! I haven't been up there since the snow...what's been interesting this year is that the June Lake Loop has been open all winter...but not the cafe!!! Great burgers, by the way!!!Delete
That WOULD be unusual to have the loop open all winter! Maybe we'll get up there in June, after school is over!Delete
This one made me smile Chieftess.. Doesn't 'General' cover it :)ReplyDelete
A little bit of everything!!!Delete
Yep, that's my husband. He can't wait to get out in the water and catch that big salmon! We joke about him catching "Walter." (big fish from the movie "On Golden Pond")ReplyDelete
I'm sure every fisherman (person) dreams of catching "Walter"!!!Delete
I enjoy fishing, but rarely go. It looks like a nice place to visit.ReplyDelete
Hmmm...that's food for thought!!!Delete

It looks like an appealing place to stop into.ReplyDelete
Admittedly, I don't fish.
I don't particularly care for fish either William!!!Delete
I'm not a huge fan of Henry David Thoreau, but I love that quote.ReplyDelete
I'm surprised you're not a fan of Thoreau Hiker!Delete
Very western! And Thoreau's quote is right on.ReplyDelete
It's a sweet spot...Delete
I'm glad they have a cafe for those not inclined to fish.ReplyDelete
Like I said...the burgers are great!!!Delete
