"A wind has blown the rain away and blown the sky away and all the leaves away,
and the trees stand.
I think, I too, have known autumn too long."
e.e. cummings
I am not a poetry enthusiast...my grandmother, a librarian for 52 years, gave me several books of English and American poetry over the years, and I'm afraid it never particularly caught on with me...
until I went to college and found e.e. cummings...
I even stopped capitalizing names and nouns...
his work still resonates with me...
This is so hauntingly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt orobably doesn't have that haunting quality in colour.
Thank you Lesley!!! And glad you stopped by to visit and comment! I liked it as well in color...bright blue sky, brown brush and a dusty brownish green tree...but I think in B&W it took on a little more melancholy look...the loneliness of the tree...

ReplyDeletethat´s some big sand dunes. I like this shot. Can feel what it would be to walk in it.
ReplyDeleteLove the windblown curves, and the brave tree surviving on its own.
ReplyDeleteThis is an exquisite photo with the gentle slopes dotted with vegetation and a focal tree. It looks like icing with a dusting of cocoa.
ReplyDeleteBises,
G
