  1. You live in an area surrounded by so much beauty. Love your photos of the natural environment. Terrific name for the falls, and I'd bet that there's a story behind it.

  2. There are so many amazing things about this photo. Love the mist, the rushing water, and the way you captured the sparkle in the top corner!

  3. Yes Kate...we are very fortunate! The people we've met up here all say they "came for the winter's (skiing) but stayed for the summers (the beauty)". I live in constant awe...
As for the story behind Bridal Veil Falls...I'll have to look that one up!!!

  4. I think the story behind Bridal Veil falls is pretty simple. You can't tell from this photo because there is too much water and the wind is blowing. But normally, the water flows over the top and falls in a single, white stream which spreads out a bit at the bottom. Hence, it looks like a bridal veil. At least that's the story my mother told me when I first went to Yosemite over 50 years ago.

  5. here's the wiki on BV falls: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridalveil_Fall

all the pics we've seen of the falls have been so full---good and beautiful, tho a bit dangerous if you don't respect their power. We are hoping to get there before the winter snow this year to enjoy seeing all the water
