"If you spend your whole life waiting for the storm,
you'll never enjoy the sunshine."
Morris West
Morris West was an Australian novelist and playwright...
His best known works were The Devil's Advocate and The Shoes of the Fisherman.
I remember seeing The Devil's Advocate...the one with Al Pacino
playing the Devil...
and I vaguely remember seeing The Shoes of the Fisherman
with Anthony Quinn...
Do you remember either of these???

This picture (and the one in the post before) are really great. Love the way the clouds snake over the sky.

Thank you Wayne!
Beautiful clouds!
ReplyDeleteHiker and Wayne have already pointed out what I love about this photo: the composition is like a mixture of the early days of cinematography and my wildest, most nostalgic dreams of the old west.
ReplyDeleteEven the opposite is true - if you wait for the sun, you'll never enjoy the storm.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
This is an awesome shot! Great post!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful view! Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lachezar!!! Glad you stopped by!
ReplyDeleteThanks Petrea! It does have a bit of the old west flare with the fence on the horizon!

Wow. That. Photo is so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Margaret!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing photo. The bottom third is complete in itself yet the additional sky adds so much more drama. Great quote too!
ReplyDeleteThis has a real Ansel Adams quality to it. Fantastic! I would love details of how you took it, e.g., filters, lens, camera, film or digital, etc.
ReplyDeleteThank you Pieces of Sunshine. We have magnificent clouds up here!
ReplyDeleteThank You SoPasRef! I almost always use a polarizer filter...this one was shot with my Nikon d70s...with a Nikon lens...can't remember the mm...but a bit of a zoom...digital...minimal Lightroom processing...feel free to email me re: anymore questions!!!
