Have you ever...



Black Point fissures, Mono Lake, California

...walked through fissures in the ground???


 There were times when I had to turn sideways because my shoulders
were too broad to walk straight forward!!!

There are two main theories about how these fissures formed...
an earthquake...
frozen ground after the glacial period cracking as it warmed...


I don't know how they formed...but I have to admit...
I was a little nervous while in there...
listening for any earth tremors!!!

It was too hot for glacial cracks!!!

  2. Impressing! I have seen (and walket between) a similar formation in Kent in England, thoug not that tall. Sandstone, on land risen from below sea level a long time ago. I like all of your pictures here. Regards :)
