Well darn! I just responded to Margaret...a nice long explanation about the difference between the main park and Mineral King and our internet was out and it got lost in the ethernet ethers!!! Anyway...Mineral King/Silver City is a quaint little area with cabins that go back to the early part of the 1900's...the land is all leased from the gov't and can only be passed down within the original family...some of the cabins have been rebuilt to very modern specs, and some are nearly original...Lot's of wildlife and not so many people...but then, I haven't been to the main park in a few decades so who knows???
Thanks Petrea...that's exactly why I was drawn to take the pic!!!
Nice one Kathy
