A Golden Moment of Time...

"The golden moments in the stream of life rush past us,
and we see nothing but sand;
the angels come to visit us,
and we only know them when they are gone."
George Eliot

  3. Thats a nice picture! When I started WBW I hoped that we would get more than just "portrait" shots - so this is just the sort of picture I wanted to see more of. Birds as part of a picture as well as pictures of birds!

    Thanks for linking to WBW

  8. Well, maybe it's not a duck. A grebe or a coot, maybe? I still like the ripples. :-)

    Thanks Gary!

    And they were definitely dipping in and out of the water Bibi!!! I tried to catch one going under or coming up but never quite caught it!

    Mammoth Lakes is a beautiful area in the Eastern Sierras of California Mary!

    Thanks Brian! I don't think they're ducks, but I don't know what they actually are...they were dark, almost black and frequently dove under the water...any help?

    Thank you Denisein

  13. I must admit, Margaret, I knew nothing of George Eliot when I found the quote...I just read about 'her' in Wikepedia and was quite astounded!!! She was quite scandalous for those times!!! Pen name, living with her married lover, eventually marrying a man 20 years younger...WOW!!! What a woman!!!

  19. Comments and replies requires skills which I haven't mastered just yet. I do have a question I asked somewhere about how you like to be addressed. I can't decide whether to call you The Chieftess or Kathryn. Decisions, decisions. PS you got it right re George Eliot, an icon here :).

  20. I just switched to registered users only LOL!!! Thanks for asking about what to call me...I answer to just about anything!!! Either way...whichever is more comfortable for you. I tend to use the blog names for people but also at times you their actual name...which do you prefer???

  21. Answer to anything? Me too! Okay, I will mix it up. LOL got started by our mate, Petrea, and worked because I so desperately wanted to keep myself anonymous. Then facebook/CDP blew that idea out of the water. Doesn't matter now...I am more confident. So anything goes. Take care, Lauren :)
