    Thats a nice picture! When I started WBW I hoped that we would get more than just "portrait" shots - so this is just the sort of picture I wanted to see more of. Birds as part of a picture as well as pictures of birds!

    And they were definitely dipping in and out of the water Bibi!!! I tried to catch one going under or coming up but never quite caught it!

    Mammoth Lakes is a beautiful area in the Eastern Sierras of California Mary!

    Thanks Brian! I don't think they're ducks, but I don't know what they actually are...they were dark, almost black and frequently dove under the water...any help?

    I must admit, Margaret, I knew nothing of George Eliot when I found the quote...I just read about 'her' in Wikepedia and was quite astounded!!! She was quite scandalous for those times!!! Pen name, living with her married lover, eventually marrying a man 20 years younger...WOW!!! What a woman!!!

    I just switched to registered users only LOL!!! Thanks for asking about what to call me...I answer to just about anything!!! Either way...whichever is more comfortable for you. I tend to use the blog names for people but also at times you their actual name...which do you prefer???

    Answer to anything? Me too! Okay, I will mix it up. LOL got started by our mate, Petrea, and worked because I so desperately wanted to keep myself anonymous. Then facebook/CDP blew that idea out of the water. Doesn't matter now...I am more confident. So anything goes. Take care, Lauren :)
