"October is the fallen leaf, but it is also a wider horizon more clearly seen.
It is the distant hills once more in sight,
and the enduring constellations above them once again."
Hal Borland
This year's fall color is not quite as spectacular as last year...
but it's cropping up all over...
this is in our "back forty"!!!
Oooo....look at that splotch of yellow!!
ReplyDeleteSame thing in my part of Canada. Except for the maples the trees have been late in changing colours.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a decent splash of colour to me - it may not be landscape wide, but it still looks good.

What a beautiful place! I like the colors and I can almost smell the forest.
ReplyDeleteleaves are just now starting to turn a bit here too. Beginning to feel more like Fall, though we are aiming at 90F for the next few days!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty- I love the golden tones of fall!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bibi!!! That's what drew to me click away at this!!! It's just a small bit of color against our magnificent pines!!!
ReplyDeleteWe miss out on the maple reds and deep oranges Andy...our color primarily comes from the aspens!!!
We've definitely got a lot of color again Stewart...but last year was lush with color!!! Quite spectacular!!!
Thanks James! It is a beautiful place to live in!!!
It's warm here too Trish! I left my pilates class with my standard sweatshirt on and it was too hot to wear it!!!
Thanks Terri! Up here we really get that beautiful fall color!!!
Beautiful! I like the yellow against the green background! Our color hasn't been that spectacular and not sure it will be. It's just pockets here and there.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Brian...it's interesting to see how different each year has been. This year the leaves are browning and dropping much faster than last year so it's not that thick, lush color but more sporadic and spotty...and still beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, we are back inti the summer heat here. But it cools off at night, so we remember we live the desert.
ReplyDeleteMy, what a lovely Forty you have!
ReplyDeleteThe best part of California summers are the cool nights Margaret!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Adele...backing up to the National Forest certainly has its perks!!!
