"No matter how sophisticated you may be, a large granite mountain cannot be denied-
it speaks in silence to the very core of your being."
Ansel Adams
One of my favorite things about living here is the drive from Bishop to Mammoth...
I love to watch how the mountains change...minute to minute...
Throughout the day the shadows move and change the visual contours of the mountains.
Then there are the seasonal changes...
snow drifts in Fall, covered with snow in the winter, and rivulets of melting snow in Spring...
As beautiful as the Western side of the Sierras are...it just doesn't compare to
the stark, rugged beauty of the Eastern Sierras.
These are part of the Sherwin Mountains Range...just south east of Mammoth Lakes...

ReplyDeleteThis particular area of mountain is especially beautiful Brian! The different shades of soil and granite running through the mountain and the shadows from all the graggines make it one of my favorite mountains to see !
