"If you would know strength and patience, welcome the company of trees."

I was entranced by this lone tree growing from the rocky cliff...
on the road to Rock Creek Lake...

Open Sesame!!!

"The angler forgets most of the fish he catches,
but he does not forget the streams and lakes in which they were caught."
Charles K. Fox

Just last week I tried to drive up to Rock Creek Lake, but the snow gate was still up.
This week, the snow gate was down and I headed up...
A few others beat me to it...

Where's that darned pot of gold???

Can you see the end of the rainbow???

Just the other day I was driving back to Mammoth from Rock Creek Lake
and it started raining...
I was driving towards the rainbow, when all of a sudden, the rainbow
was on the road in front of me and I was right there...
literally on top of the end of the rainbow!!!

I looked all around me but I couldn't see a pot of gold...
but I did hear faint giggling...do you suppose???

Fall Colors are Here!

Fall colors are here!   Our granddaughters have come up for their Fall break from school and today we took a drive.  It's been dark and rainy in Mammoth, so after breakfast and a few stops in Mammoth we took off down the mountain.  Our first stop was Bishop...I'll post some of those pics later.  Our most spectacular stop was Rock Creek Lake.  The fall colors have truly arrived in this very special place.  Not only that, but there was a dusting of snow in the mountain tops surrounding the lake!!!

We continued on our Sunday drive after lunch at Tom's Place and found
Rock Creek Lake...

Still taking advantage of top-down weather...
The weather's starting to turn, so not much longer...
