Yep....we're home!!!

I think Sadie and Cleo have finally figured out that this is home!!!

It Was Quite an Adventure!!!

Sadie and Cleo got to go outside today for the first time since we've been up here in Mammoth Lakes.

Down south, they were both indoor/outdoor kitties.  They loved sitting on the patio and cruising the yard.

For the most part, they stayed in the yard....

When we first got to Mammoth, our home up here had a huge and wonderful deck off the second floor

which was our main living area...the deck was high enough that the cats could go out and enjoy the sun 

without really being out in the "wild".

But here we are in our new home...yes...we have a deck, but it's off the first floor and has steps down

to the slate patio below.  So...the dilemma...do we let the cats out?  

Today they went outside...we were all out there.  Kelly, TheChief and me...Cleo and Sadie...

Sadie was in hog heaven...

literally!!!!  She rolled and rolled in the dirt...then she explored...with me following and 

bringing her back close to the house whenever she got a bit too far...

Cleo wandered a bit but stayed close to home...

And was completely tuckered out when she got back in!!!

Learning to Navigate in the Snow...

Sadie reminds me a little of me...

Snow is a new experience...

Getting around in it kind of depends on how deep it is...

Sometimes we're overly cautious....

Sometimes we just have to go for it...

And sometimes, it's just smarter to stay inside and hang out (like Cleo)!

Damn...why didn't I take my camera???

Dan and I went driving around looking at neighborhoods and houses that are for sale (just lookin'!).

Up above our home, there's a beautiful area, higher up, with some great houses.

While cruising through the neighborhood, Dan spotted a bear cub!!!  And yep, mom wasn't far behind...

They were in a yard...didn't look like anyone was home...

We stopped and watched until they wandered off...

Did I have my camera...NO!!!

Ah!!!  But I had my new Motorola Droid X smart phone with a camera just about as complex as my SLR...as a matter of fact...so damn complex I couldn't figure out how to snap the damn photo!!!

Ah well...Sadie and the bear skin will just have to suffice...

Awwww....
