"The true fisherman approaches the first day of fishing season
with all the sense of wonder
and awe of a child approaching Christmas."
Robert Traver
Kelly and I met this guy and his hat at the upper lake of Twin Lakes
in the Mammoth Lakes basin.
He was up here alone, his family couldn't come.
When Kelly and I came upon him, he had a fish...
but apparently he wasn't big enough because he let him go...
Kelly wasn't too sure when he came out of the water
so he took his hat off...
but that didn't help...
I think it had something to do with the squishy sound
his gators made!!!
But Kelly finally let her curiosity and love of people win out...
she made a new friend...again!!!

Thanks Bettyl! I should have mentioned that he also wears his hat while coaching high school football!!!
That explains it -- Kelly is wary of recruitment; she wants to play tennis.
