"How fair is a garden amid the trials and passions of existence."
Benjamin Disraeli
This beautiful flower stood outside one of the homes in the neighborhood
where we were this past weekend...building a house for a lovely
family of three.
The owners of this particular home opened their home to us
while we were building the new home next door....
for use of their "facilities"...
an unusual opportunity while participating in these builds
as there usually is not any running water.
In these communities, to have running water or electricity is a luxury.
The homes we build are simple structures, enough to provide shelter and security.
Please take time to visit the Corazon.org site to learn more about their programs.
Corazon=heart...and hope.
one of the primary benefits for the new home owners is to have a door with a lock and key... so that their home is secure... |
this is the neighbors home...graced with the beauty of the red flower.... |

I always find it...I don't know ... endearing? significant? telling? when I see a house that would otherwise seem depressing, but it has flower pots on the porch or some other carefully tended thing of beauty. It's like seeing the heart of the house.
