"We have been to the moon,
we have charted the depths of the ocean and the heart of the atom,
but we have a fear of looking inward to ourselves
because we sense that is where all the contradictions flow together."
Terence McKenna
Have you ever heard of a psychonaut?
Apparently...it's someone who grew up in the 60's,
got involved in psychedelics,
and wrote something of some value...
Wikepedia referred to McKenna as a "psychonaut,
lecturer and writer". Reading his biography was a bit like taking a
"trip" back to the 60's...
Yes...I was a child of the 60's...
yet somehow I managed to skip the psychedelic part...
and still...I'm quite content with my self knowledge...
contradictions and all...
(Sorry for the missed posts Wednesday and Thursday...
out of town longer than anticipated and no laptop!!!)

ReplyDeleteLOVE the photo Kathryn! It's stark, cold and beautiful...
ReplyDeleteI guess I meet all the criteria of a psychonaut. Except for the writing something of value part...
Ahhhh...but your blog is your something of value part Pat!!!
ReplyDeleteIs that snow or dusty earth bleached by the moonlight? A tantalizing shot!
ReplyDeleteI took this awhile ago so it very well might be snow...but it's also the White Mountain range which has some kind of mineral that looks like snow capped mountains even without the snow!!! So...in answer to your question Linda...I'm not sure!!!
