An Enduring Force...

"The tree is more than first a seed, then a stem, then a living trunk,
and then dead timber.
The tree is a slow, enduring force straining to win the sky."
Antoine de Saint-Exupery

  5. "winning the sky" is a unique turn of phrase to describe! PS. I have been out of town, Up North, for a week near the Canadian border without internet or cell phone capability. Very peaceful and serene and I loved it; gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. But I have not been able to visit any of my blogger friends. It'll take awhile to read all of my email messages and to visit your posts to see what I've missed, but it's good to be back!

  9. That video made me laugh!! The one where the person finally got out of the car and then started sliding around and laughing was great! It went perfectly with the serenity of the first part of the post. :-)

  11. As with trees losing their leaves, only to grow back anew again, so it will be with the hair of man.

  13. Beautiful and elegant. Bare trees and snow go together so well.

  14. Thanks Dragonstar and Nature Footstep!!! I agree...the whiteness of the snow and the contrast with the trees just seems to call for B&W!!!
