Love the mailboxes. This is such a great shot. Glad you went into the archives to share it with us. I could look at it over and over again. Great work.
my Grandpa used to have a PO box after he retired---I think as an excuse to get out of the house at least once a day. When the PO changed to keys, he bought the old box and kept it in his study.
when I turned 18, I grabbed a PO box in SoPas, mostly because of their old dials. I still remember receiving a letter from a friend, now long dead, and standing on the steps out front, crying at the beauty of the letter. Not quite the same as opening an email from a friend...
Great shot for theme day.

Those ol' p.o. boxes totally remind me of my p.o. box at St. Olaf College --several years ago!
ReplyDeleteOoh, these mailboxes are very cool. Looks like something we'd see in an old B&W movie. Perfect for theme day :-D
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful patterns they make.
ReplyDeleteIF I'd remembered, I'd have posted similar old mailboxes...but I didnt'.
