for my interpretation of CDP's Theme day Mailboxes

  1. Those ol' p.o. boxes totally remind me of my p.o. box at St. Olaf College --several years ago!

  2. Ooh, these mailboxes are very cool. Looks like something we'd see in an old B&W movie. Perfect for theme day :-D

  7. I love the old boxes. They have so much more character than the metal prison looking ones we have now. Great shot.

  10. I love the angle you shot them from. A great subject but around here they're just dull and boring.

  15. beautiful!

my Grandpa used to have a PO box after he retired---I think as an excuse to get out of the house at least once a day. When the PO changed to keys, he bought the old box and kept it in his study.

when I turned 18, I grabbed a PO box in SoPas, mostly because of their old dials. I still remember receiving a letter from a friend, now long dead, and standing on the steps out front, crying at the beauty of the letter. Not quite the same as opening an email from a friend...

    thanks for the memories!
