A Memorial Day Tribute...

"And I'm proud to be an American
where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
Lee Greenwood

(Yes's Memorial Day weekend, May 29...snowed all night and all day...over 6 inches total)

  1. I was just going to tell you that I love that song and ask where you dug up such a great photo...but I guess the snow is back again? I know you've been waiting for spring but I have to say that I LOVE the first photo! So gorgeous. Makes me feel patriotic and I'm not even a citizen :-D

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

  2. Both photos are extraordinary and very fitting for the weekend. Sorry that you've gotten snow again. Our spring has been cold and rainy. Summer should arrive soon!!

  3. Thank you Kaori! You're right...I took the photo from our dining room window yesterday's crystal clear blue skies today and I expect the snow will melt quickly...

I hope you have clear blue skies soon too Kate!!!

  4. Thank YOU for remembering to commemorate Memorial Day is honor to all who gave some and some who gave all!

  5. thank you Madge..It's my honor...
And thank you for stopping by to visit and comment!

  6. I guess you do not want to hear that we hit 90F today... That top photo took my breath away. I do not think that I have ever seen a more beautiful setting and display of our flag.

I called my daddy this morning to tell him thanks for his service during WWII.

The snow really is lovely and sounds great to someone sweltering in the deep South!

  7. One of the bonuses of living up here Genie is that we rarely if ever see 90F!!! Unless we go down to Bishop!!!

Thank your daddy for me too!

  8. Did you ever guess you'd be such a deft hand at photographing snow? Now tell your hired hand he has some schytte to shovel.

  9. Snow is the new California sunshine up here Hiker!!!

Heh, heh, heh!!! I don't think I can spell the hired hand's response Hiker!!!

  10. WEll your tribute is just beautiful. I'm sorry your flag is waving in the snow ....AGAIN.......but it's lovely nonetheless.
