Our Little Corner of the World...

Meet Jeffrey...

Jeffrey Pine that is!!!

"I like trees because they seem more resigned to the way they have to live
than other things do."
Willa Cather

Soooo....why do you suppose this ol' pine has had to live with his limbs
growing at right angles???

When I looked up Jeffrey pine...all their branches were nicely shaped with the tree...
sooo, why are these at right angles???

  4. Funky. Since it's so much taller, I'd think it was storm damage.

  5. Just a guess...it was really windy up there...between that and the snow...perhaps weighting these limbs down??? Other than that...your guess is as good as mine!!!

  8. A tree with personality!
I don't know much, but I have an answer for the quandary!
The limbs of most trees grow to sunlight.
the limbs of pine trees (and some others) grow towards the pull of gravity.
