Breaking the rules...
The Creative Exchange
Some of you may have met Lisa in the comments section of MMLDP,
but have you been to visit her blog???
Lisa has a very unique and beautiful style in her photography, including using polaroids!!!
Now, the reason I am featuring Lisa in my blog post is because she initiated a unique challenge in creativity in her group, the Creative Exchange...
In her last post, she mentions that she just finished an on-line photography course where she learned all the rules...then the last project was to break the rules!!!
So I decided to join in...photography courses generally frown on shooting into the sun...but I've found I rather enjoy the effect...so this one's for you Lisa, and your Creative Exchange!!!

The Quandary of "Q"...
"Q" is a rather Quirky letter...what can I find here in Mammoth that expresses the letter "Q"?
While contemplating my Quandary, I thought back about previous posts and photographic explorations...what begins with "Q"?
My thoughts first went to my journey around the June Lake Loop and the beautiful Quaking Aspen...
And then I thought about stopping at Gull Lake and enjoying the Quacking of the ducks...
Which then made me think of the Quacking ducklings at the Tamarack Lodge by the Twin Lakes in Mammoth...
Which made me think of the Queen Dowager, Miss Daisy...
Now my Quandary is which one to pick???
Be sure to visit ABC Wednesday to see how others expressed the letter "Q"

Turning into a Winter Wonderland...
A bit more substantial snow storm yesterday, dropped about 6 inches of new snow here...for the first time, I drove through the town of Mammoth Lakes with a blanket of snow covering everything...
Another first...my first time shoveling snow off the driveway...
I was thinking, "this could get old"...
Until Daisy and I drove around in search of photos...

What's that white stuff again???
Yesterday morning and all day long it was a cross between rain and snow...nothing stuck on the ground,
it melted as it landed. Then, around 4 or 5 this afternoon, it started to stick...it definitely was snowing!

The house across the street...
Well, it's still snowing...and they're expecting more tomorrow...do you think maybe winter is coming???

Solitary Man...

Fisherman at Convict Lake Being solitary is being alone well: being alone luxuriously immersed in doings of your own choice, aware of the fullness of your won presence rather than of the absence of others. Because solitude is an achievement. Alice Koller |

Closing up for the Season...
Ooops!!! Still haven't gotten the hang of the Daily Photo!!! On Monday I drove 300+ miles to Glendale so that I could vote on Tuesday, and totally forgot to post!!! But I voted!!! Then I drove 300+ miles back home today to enjoy the Hubman's and my anniversary!!! Most of the fine restaurants have closed for a few weeks, waiting for the snow season crowd...so we drove to June Lake for a lovely dinner at Carson Peak Lodge...
Nope...this isn't Carson Peak Lodge...
