It's a Prickly Situation...

"I have learned the difference between a cactus and a caucus.
On a cactus the pricks are on the outside."
Morris K. Udall

Heh heh...
Kind of a timely quote don't you think???

(a purely bi-partisan comment I might add!!!)

The non essential services closure of the federal government has
actually been a financial boon to Mammoth and June Lake during our "shoulder" season...
all those campers from Yosemite had to get out...
and guess where they landed???
Thank goodness we have several privately owned campgrounds!!!

    1. Takk Dirk! Dette er etter blomsten allerede falt av.. pod er igjen og har litt farge... interessant på sin egen uten blomst!

Thanks Dirk!!! This one's after the flower already fell off...the pod is left and has a bit of color...interesting on it's own without the flower!!!

  6. Don't get too close :). Glad those Yosemite visitors have somewhere nice to go and that business will be booming....Hooray! Possibly keeping The Chief a tad busy too.

  7. Beautiful photo Kathryn! That first quote is spot on! Love it.
Speaking of which. We are going to the desert for two weeks in a few days. We'll be camped close to Joshua Tree National Park and I'd hate it if we can't get in.

    1. I knew you'd appreciate the quote Pat!!! Good luck in Joshua Tree!!! You can still drive through Yosemite but no facilities!!! And if you stop you can be sited by the non essential park rangers that are still working!!!
