"I was 32 when I started cooking;
up until then, I just ate."
Julia Child
First, I was looking through a Williams-Sonoma catalogue...
then I checked out some of the recipes mentioned in the catalogue online...
then I started thinking how boring my meals have gotten...
then I started exploring more recipes at WS online...
then I started in on recipes at Epicurious...
then I realized I should post something...
...well...
with all that cooking on my mind...this one just seemed to fit!!!
Now...I've got to go take a shower and get ready...
we're eating out tonight...
Update!!! Sooo...I made one of the WS meals tonight...
can't say it was stellar...it was edible...
but it sure didn't look anything like the picture!!!

ReplyDeleteNice capture! I'm not much of a cook - hubby does most of it :)
ReplyDeleteI generally enjoy cooking...as long as I don't have to do cleanup!!!
DeleteWell, eating out is a solution! That is a cool old kitchen, imagine using that way back when ...
ReplyDeleteIt was probably state of the art back then too!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, glad to have you participate in the weekly photo challenge on Facebook. Your photos are wonderful! I would share some of our snow and cold if I could. I have those same chairs in storage in the garage, we used them for years:)
ReplyDeleteLove the quote! I'm not much for cooking myself and like your suggestion of going out to eat! :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoy cooking...but when TheChief and I were first dating, he asked me..."Would you rather eat in or go out?" I told him there was only one answer to that question...."OUT"!!!
DeleteI would eat out three meals a day if I could.
DeleteI know what you mean Petrea!!! I much prefer to fix a good dinner than to fuss about lunch or especially breakfast!!!
Deletehahahaha! I always love your visits to Bodie.
ReplyDelete:) :) :)
DeleteYou can catch Julia cooking. On PBS with a french guy at a weird hour...but still
ReplyDeleteI see her every now and then!!!
Delete:))
ReplyDeleteLOL! Eating out after the first part of the post leading us to think you were about to head to the kitchen and release your inner Julia Child! HAHAHAHA!!!
ReplyDeleteIn World War II, Julia Child (and her husband) worked for the forerunner of today's CIA.
I loved the movie...Julie and Julia!!! It skirts the issue of Julia working for the CIA...although I believe Julia herself only admitted to working as a secretary
DeleteI like to cook and do a fair job at it, but for some reason I'd much rather eat things that others have cooked. Bodie, I've got to get to Bodie...
ReplyDeleteI admit, I'm really not much of a cook.
ReplyDeleteA good black and white image!
