Shine Your Light...

"We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does.
Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining-they just shine."
Dwight L. Moody

  2. Great quote and your close shot of the lighthouse is wonderful. So often, we see the full view of these amazing structures. Your perspective is refreshing.

  5. I'm not sure Kaori...there was someone working on it the day we were there...which was part of the reason I chose the angle and composition that I did...

Thanks Genie...I always prefer to do shots a bit differently than the norm!!!

Thanks Nature Footstep...I would have liked to go inside...I've been in a lighthouse on the California coast, but I don't think they allow visitors up in this one...

    Thank you Tatjana!!!

  7. This lighthouse is Kilauea Lighthouse on Kauai, and yes...it is absolutely in operation! I have often slept in my brother and sister-in-law's bedroom (when they are away) in Princeville, and on of my favorite things is lying awake and watching this light just south of their house flash over... and over...and over -- all night long!

    Lovely pics honey! Kath

(my friend Kathryn couldn't post a comment...darned new comments format on blogger! So I'm posting it for her!)
