Our Little Corner of the World...

"Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up,
snow is exhilarating;
there is really no such thing as bad weather,
only different kinds of good weather."
John Ruskin

Today we've begun a heat wave...
we hit 32 degrees Fahrenheit!!!
I think I would generally agree with Ruskin about the snow being exhilarating...
but this past week was just too darned cold!!!

  6. All the lake shots are of June Lake in this post PA...If you notice the spots on the lower lake show areas where the ice is not fully formed. Two years ago, I saw people out walking on the lake, but it's actually to low in altitude to be perfectly safe. Lake George, which is above Twin Lakes is often a destination for skating...the road is closed from Twin Lakes to Lake George so you have to hike first to get to Lake George. I haven't heard about people skating there this year though...so I don't know if the ice is thick enough yet...

  7. We are set to warm up tomorrow, but it has been cold here. It was 36 degrees when I was taking my daughter to school the other day.
