What Kind of Critter is This???

Anyone know what kind of critter left this track???

Update!  I checked with TheChief to see if he knew the critter...but no he didn't know...
so I emailed our local Wildlife Specialist, Steve Searles, the Bear Whisperer!!!
Rather than a bear, or a yeti, or....
he suggested that it looked to him like a Rabbit!!!
Whew!!!  I guess I wasn't in any danger after all!!!

  1. No idea, but I think I would rather not bump into whatever made those prints :).

  3. If I remember correctly...the print was about 4 or 5 inches from stem to stern...and quite fresh!!!

  7. Must have been a Yeti coming down from the mountains to visit your garden or a rapid, depends on the size :) !

  8. That is the distinctive footprint of the notorious Sacramento Walletthief, probably of the Assembly variety...

  9. Haha << Louis >>!!! That's a print I've not seen up here before!!!

No fears Adele!!! I have it on good authority that the prints left were probably from...not a bear...not a deer...but a rabbit!!! TheChief didn't have a clue either so I referred the matter to our resident Wildlife Authority...Steve Searles, the BearWhisperer!!! He thought the shape of the pads and claws were the front of the back feet, with the circle being the tail...the small shape in front being the front feet...not so dramatic as a bear or a yeti...or even a notorious Sacramento Wallethief...but I feel better knowing I wasn't in jeopardy of being eaten!!!
