Our New Neighbor!!!

1/400 sec  f 4.0  ISO 200

"The bluebird carries the sky on his back."
Henry David Thoreau

This big guy has been hanging around our house for the past few weeks...
and just today I saw the reason...
he's building his home on our back porch light!!!

I think he'd prefer the snow to go away too...
but it didn't stop him!!!

If you have an interest in birds and great photography...
check out Brian King Images!!!

I love how he puts the settings for each shot under each photo he posts...
(it's helped me think about how to shoot particular shots...)
so I'm stealing his idea!!!

But is it really stealing if I'm giving him credit???
(Now...if I can just remember to do it!!!)

  6. Very pretty blue bird. You will enjoy watching the building of its home near you. I have a robin that has built the neatest nest, and already has babies.

  7. A wonderful Stellar's Jay. When I lived in Colorado, the neighborhood kids called them "Darth Vader birds".

  15. We don't have Stellar's Jays here, but they're handsome looking birds! Wonderful shot! Thank you for the very kind blog mention! You're not stealing anything from me at all. I'm quite certain I'm not the first one to post settings info with my shots, but thank you for the kind words! I'm just glad somebody actually noticed the info!
