Historic Reflections...

In more than one way...this is a historic reflection!!!

I took this in 2008 while on a road trip through Oregon and Colorado
(and several more states!)
This is in Silverton Colorado...looking into a charming bank that
looked like it could be the set for a Western...

Oh! Yeah!  That's your's truly in the reflection!!!

  1. I always kind of like when you can see the photographer's reflection. It's nice to see the artist shining forth.

  3. This place looks familiar but I don't think I've been in Silverton. I'll bet it has been used as a movie location.

  5. It's in the mountains above Durango Petrea...there's a railroad that goes from there down to Durango that's supposed to be a fun trip to take...we drove the same route, but didn't get to experience the train ride. It's a charming little town...at very high altitude!!!

Thanks Southwest Arkie!!! Glad you stopped by to visit and comment!!! You have a very interesting blog!!! Love the genealogical twist!!!

  6. I've been to Durango, so maybe I've been to Silverton. It was 1988 so I can't be expected to remember...

  7. I visited Silverton long ago on my Rocky Mountain road trip...and that ceramic detail on the bank looks like it's from a California pottery house

  9. 1988??? That's only 10 years before I was there Petrea!!!

Did you love Silverton PA? I agree...that detailing does look like California ceramic...but I think it was wood...not sure though!

  13. I remember Durango better. My girlfriend Ellen (Duvall) Bartlett, who owns the training stable in Benton, was my road trip companion. I was 18 and she was 16. Her family owns a lot of land in Bisby Colorado. We did this road trip, with Bisby as our destination, twice.
